Public libraries are in dire need of community support in many ways like activism on the local, county, & state levels, volunteers, and donations. As a certified not-for-profit organization, all donations and proceeds go right back to providing our community with the resources and services it needs.
An easy way to give back to your local library is by signing up for AmazonSmile. AmazonSmile is a program that will donate 0.5% of your qualifying purchase to the charity of your choice and we want to be your choice. You get the same Amazon service with the added bonus of charitable giving. Visit AmazonSmile for more information. Also on Amazon.com, you can order items for us from our Wish List. Search for Lehighton Area Memorial Library under ‘wish lists’ and choose an item to add to your cart. The item will be shipped directly to us with an optional message from you! You can also make us your Thrivent Choice organization for your Thrivent Dollars. Ask your Thrivent Financial Adviser for more information.
Another way to support local libraries is by calling your State Representative or Senator and expressing that public libraries should be a priority for the state budget and your representative or senator. Call or write a letter to your Chamber of Commerce and city councils. Attend a meeting for your municipality’s council or supervisors and speak about how your library serves you and is necessary. Make your voice heard by your elected officials in your support for public library funding. Click HERE to find contact information on your state-level elected officials.
You can also donate directly LAML during our Annual Fund Drive or any other time during the year. Come in and check out our library Wish Tree, where gift tags list an item that the library can use for you to purchase.
*NEW* Purchase tickets in our Money for Mondays campaign. All proceeds from this cash raffle go directly towards opening our library on Mondays in 2018, adding an additional 6 hours and another day of the week to our service hours. The drawing will be November 19, but if you purchase your tickets early, you get additional opportunities to win in the early bird drawings. If you love your library, want to see us grow, and will help sell tickets, please let us know. Every (10) tickets you sell, earns you a free raffle ticket. You can purchase tickets during library hours, from library staff or board members, and at local events. Cash only please!
